In places of human activity safety measures should be arranged and the best solution is human protection from touches of current conducting parts. Isolation is achieved by different methods: person’s remoteness, fencing or enclosure of parts under voltage into cases made from insulation materials. Enclosed conductor rails represent the last method in practice.
Enclosed conductor rail represents a plastic duct with copper tapes inside it. From these tapes current collecting takes place. Conductors might have two types according to the laying method inside the duct: in sections, equal to the length of trolleys (2 or 4 m), or dragged as a single-piece tape. During the section method conductors are attached by special clamps and isolated by plastic connecting couplers. During the second method copper tapes are dragged by a special trolley with a wire rope. The tape is attached to the trolley. The wire rope is used to drag the tape along the path. Assembly of copper conductors is carried out after installation of all parts of the system, that provide a fixation of the ducts. At the beginning of the conductor rail a current-carrying element is placed, wherein all bus bars are connected.
Assembly of the system is carried out by couplers and hanger brackets. The ducts are secured from horizontal displacements by the hanger bracket. That also provides a fixing point.
Current collecting is realised by a current collecting trolley. They differ by current: 35 A and 70 A. If needed to be, current collectors might be equipped with four or five boots. Every current collecting kit contains a holder for the dragging lead. The dragging lead is attached to the moving mechanism, that provides a tow of the current collecting trolley.
To provide maintenance areas for the supplied equipment, it is possible to design isolated sections in different modifications of the system.
